STUDYING MATHS GCSE ONLINE WITH CORDOBA EDUCATION NETWORK
Register Now or continue reading...
Our online lessons are held three times a week, Mon/Wed/Thursday at 6pm UK time. The lessons take students from the more basic maths topics right through until the higher scoring topics. By building a strong understanding of the more basic concepts and then applying what has been learnt in to more complex areas, students will have the strong understanding they need to score well in their exams.
At the end of each unit a test will be issued by email to the parents and the students will then sit the test in a controlled environment under the supervision of their parents. It will then be scanned and emailed back to the tutor and marked. The test will be made up of typical exam style questions from the topic the students have just completed.
This rigorous course ensures all areas are thoroughly covered and revisited when the students are preparing to sit their exams. Once al the course content is covered then the course focuses on exam practise, techniques and past paper questions.
Who is the course designed for
The course is ideal for all types of students, either students attending school or those that are home educated. Studying online has developed over the recent years and the occurrence of new platforms and online software has allowed online learning to become a popular choice for various reasons. As a parent, taking your child to and from tuition can be awfully stressful and extremely difficult, however when studying online, all those hardships are eliminated.
No matter where you are in the world, so long as you have a reliable internet connection and a PC, laptop or device you can attend our lessons.
Ideal age and ability of Students
Students from as young as 13 can join the course. As a parent, if you feel your child is ready to start the preparation and build up for their exams then this course would cater for them. If not, then students can also join the KS3 course that we are also running. For those who feel they can get more out of their child and would like their children to attend whilst they also attend school then this would grant your child exposure to a higher level and more in-depth learning experience.
As for those who are home educated then, again, these lessons would suit your child due to the liberty of studying at whatever pace and level your child is comfortable with.
Our lessons are taught using an online platform where there is visual, audio, an interactive whiteboard and presentation. Each student can use the chat feature to ask and answer questions.
The lesson is 1 hr 15 mins three times a week with the addition of online video/tutorials of the lesson to playback when needed. Course notes are also provided to the students where they can be printed off or saved for future reference
As a means of having notes for reference, in addition to the notes provided and exclusive access to the videos, homework is assigned at least once a week. This also provides practice so that the students have unsupervised attempts at the work done in the lessons.
Each student is encouraged to keep all their lesson notes and homework in one exercise book or folder, again, as a point of reference for revision for their exams.
How students attend the lessons
Once payment is complete and you have registered students will be able to access the lessons and materials. An invitation will be emailed to the students and they simply follow the link provided, give their name and email address and will then be automatically added to the room.
Pricing and Payment
After filling out the registration you will be sent an invoice via paypal and payments can be made using paypal or a debit card. Payments are made monthly and when calculated the price is less that £3 an hour. Invoices are sent every 4 weeks and one week prior to the due date, allowing a week for the payment to be made. The price for the course is £36 a month and is not individually priced per lesson, so for whatever reason a student cannot attend a lesson, the amount will not be refunded. If a child is a way for a longer period of time, please contact us and we will come to an arrangement.
Child Safety and protection
One of the pros of studying online is that there is no 'in-person' correspondence or contact. All communication is done on-line and is completely transparent. Parents are able to watch over their children during lessons. Each child will log on using an email address and all correspondence can go through parents if desired, however, the only form of correspondence is likely to be homework being sent and in the case where a student wishes to ask questions.
Currently we are building an online complete module with all course contents uploaded including quizzes, tutorials, exercises, videos and the option to ask questions. This is something that we are working progressively towards and we hope to have it completed as soon as possible. Once completed, students will have access to the content making their online learning experience a whole lot more enjoyable.
If you still have any further questions, please contact us by email, email@example.com.
