Course Details
Cordoba Education Network provides Maths courses at KS3 and IGCSE levels, as well as IGCSE Physics.
Who are the courses designed for?
Our courses are ideal for students who are home educated as most of the lessons are held during the day on weekdays.
Why choose to study online?
Studying online is extremely convenient, cutting out all the commuting, waiting around or having someone having to come into your homes. As a parent, taking your child to and from tuition can be awfully stressful and extremely difficult, however when studying online, all those hardships are eliminated.
No matter where you are in the world, so long as you have a reliable internet connection and a PC, laptop or device you can attend our lessons.
Ideal age and ability of Students
Students from as young as 11 can join our KS3 level courses, that take place over a span of 2 years (usually 3 years in school). KS3 P1 and KS3 P2 are years one and two of the KS3 content.
They can then can work their way up after the KS3 classes, to start the preparation for their exams with our IGCSE courses, which also take place over 2 years. This includes covering the EdExcel specification content, exam practice and preparation.
Lesson Format
Our lessons are taught using an online platform where there is visual, audio, interactive whiteboard and presentation. Each student can use the chat feature to ask and answer questions.
Our lessons are live and take place twice a week. We use an online classroom platform to upload all lesson material including video recordings, lesson notes and homework, so there is no need to purchase any books or additional material. Additionally, parents and students can keep track of their progress via the classroom and view their homework grades and their over all class grade.
Homework
Homework is given in the first lesson of the week, and then reviewed in the next lesson, so students can practice what they have learned. At the end of the week they are required to complete an online homework form and their grades are uploaded to the online classroom where parents can access and track their students progress.
Each student is encouraged to keep all their lesson notes and homework in one exercise book or folder, as a point of reference for revision for their exams.
How students attend the lessons
Once payment is complete and you have registered students will be able to access the lessons and materials. An invitation will be emailed to the students and they simply follow the link provided, give their name and email address and will then be automatically added to the virtual classroom.
Child Safety and protection
One of the pros of studying online is that there is no ‘in-person’ correspondence or contact. All communication is done online and is completely transparent. Parents are able to watch over their children during lessons. Each child will log on using an email address and all correspondence can go through parents.
Students do not use their camera or microphone in the live group lessons. They simply type in the chat box or write on the interactive whiteboard. Students can see and hear the teacher.
Pricing and Payment
After filling out the registration form and paying the registration fee, you will be sent an invoice via PayPal and payments can be made using PayPal or a debit card. Payments are made every four weeks, during lesson terms. Half-terms and other holidays are not charged for.
The lessons are invoiced for in four-week blocks, so if a student cannot attend a live lesson, the amount will not be refunded as they can catch up on the missed lesson via the lesson recording.
If the teacher cancel a lesson, the cost will be refunded or the lesson will be rescheduled.
If a child is a way for a longer period of time, please contact us and we will come to an arrangement.
